Last Weekend in Wellington

Helen enjoying a sunny lunch on our deck and our fantastic view.

On Saturday we went for a walk with Max and Jo in the Belmont Hills, just north of Wellington City.

Looking south over Wellington Harbour from Belmont Trig (CBD behind Tim's head).
It was such a clear day and the hills of Marlborough sounds looked so close and big across the Cook Strait.

Porirua Harbour and Kapati Island to the West.
There were also fantastic views over the Hutt Valley and the Rimutaka Hills to the east.

Tim, Max and Jo on Belmont Trig.

On Sunday, the weather was a bit more menacing so headed to Mount Vic to go mountain biking with Dan. This was the first time we had been to Mount Vic since exactly a year ago today (7th) when we passed through Wellington on our way to the South Island with no idea we would be living here for 9 months. The mountain biking tracks were very different to the trails of Makara Peak so it was good to do a bit more exploring.
So now we've got a very busy week of packing and farewells before loading up Bongo and catching the ferry on Friday evening back to the South Island and onto our new flat in Christchurch.
