Looking South over the route up the Chhonbardan Glacier from Italian Base Camp to Hidden Valley. Dhaulagiri towers over.

Italian Basecamp

Scoping the route onwards

Rest day at Italian Basecamp under one of the biggest mountain faces in the world! The summit of Dhaulagiri (visible)  is still over 4km above our heads

Early morning frosty start to tackle the morraine wall

The cold Swiss Basecamp

Reaching the snow!

Approaching the snout of the Chhonbardan Glacier, that we would follow all the way to French Pass

Reaching the sun and leaving the narrow valley behind

Shortly after pitching the tent at Glacier Camp, the afternoon cloud, wind and hail arrive
